The Office of the National Chairman has distributed 500 food packs to Imams and Amirahs during Ramadan, reinforcing its partnership with Muslim leaders and supporting religious officials as they guide communities through the holy month.

The Office of the National Chairman (ONC), led by Hajjat Hadijah Namyalo, has donated 500 food packs to imams and amirahs to support their operations during the Holy Month of Ramadan.

The food packages were received by District Khadhi Sheikh Elias Kigozi alongside Chairman Hajj Ssesanga Kilyanga Enjovu and Secretary Hajj Jamil Lubega, in the presence of all 11 county sheikhs.

District Khadhi Sheikh Elias Kigozi described the initiative as timely and impactful.

“This support has come at the right time during Ramadan. It not only eases the burden on our Imaams and Amirahs but also strengthens the spirit of unity and cooperation within the Muslim community,” he said.

Leaders noted that the donation further reinforces the working relationship between the Office of the National Chairman and the Uganda Muslim Supreme Council.

Chairman Hajj Kilyanga expressed appreciation on behalf of the beneficiaries.

“We deeply appreciate this generous gesture from the ONC. It reflects true commitment to supporting religious leaders who serve communities selflessly,” he said.

Recipients of the food packs welcomed the assistance, saying it would enable them to focus more fully on their spiritual duties during Ramadan.

Organisers concluded the event with prayers for blessings upon those involved in the initiative.

“We pray that Allah rewards everyone who contributed to this noble cause abundantly during this blessed month,” one of the county sheikhs said.

The initiative underscores ongoing efforts to support religious leaders and strengthen cooperation between national offices and faith-based institutions across Uganda.
